When it comes to selling your house, your kitchen is going to be one of the most important spaces. You want to make sure that it looks as new, fresh, and as clean as possible (Rick’s Rule 2: Nobody wants to buy a used house). Your kitchen is a location where stuff tends to collect. No matter how much counter top space you have, you are going to want to make it appear larger. This is accomplished by Rick’s Rule 3 or the half-half rule, where you take half of the appliances and other items from your counter tops, and then you remove another half. Some agents will recommend removing everything. I believe that this makes it look more like a vacant house instead of a house that’s lived in but has plenty of storage.
